Specialist track for the licensing officer, planning team member, or regulatory desk staff who will operate Permit Engine. Permit-type modelling, inspection design, public registers, fee calculation, and appeals handling.

§ 01 / WHO IT IS FOR

The role behind the track.

Permit Engine is the most domain-specific platform in the suite. Its specialists need to combine platform fluency with deep understanding of their licence regime. A specialist on the building-permits desk has different daily concerns from a specialist on the medical-device authorization desk — the track is structured so that the platform-side curriculum is shared but the specialist's L2 case study is always set in their own regime.

L2
Practitioner · 10 days + 30 days supervised
Multi-stage applications. Conditional approvals. Variations and amendments. Renewals and lapses. Appeals. Inspection field tooling. Case study: full configuration of one of the customer's actual permit types.
L3
Expert · Self-directed, 4–6 months
Regime-wide redesign. Cross-permit dependencies. Performance management. Service-standard publication. Two regime-level projects, paper, oral.
L4
Architect · Peer-nominated, capped intake
Sets the licensing-system design standards for the agency or jurisdiction. Authority to sign off cross-regime decisions. Architecture board.
§ 03 / EXAMINATION & CERTIFICATION

How the level is actually awarded.

L1 examination
Multiple-choice plus permit-type modelling lab.
L2 examination
Full configuration of one real permit type on the customer's tenancy. Includes a live inspection cycle and at least one variation.
L3 examination
Two regime-level projects, paper, oral. The paper typically addresses a policy-design question, not just a configuration question.
L4 examination
Architecture board. Includes a panel member from the customer's policy department in addition to Emeron principal engineers.
Re-certification
Every 24 months. Focused on regulatory changes since last certification.
